Mike Rockenfeller is hungry to finish the season on a winning note. “I watched the team at Petit go from the back of the grid at the start to the front and then up two laps on the field. We were really having a strong run, very Alex Job like. That is kind of the way the season has gone for us – fast and then disappointment. Laguna Seca is a great track, with the elevation changes and the combination of turns, I really like it. The team will be ready to finish the season strong, with the race ending in the darkness I hope we can bring some light to our season’s record with a win.”
Marcel Tiemann is looking forward to returning to Laguna Seca. “I raced at Laguna in 1997 and 1998 in the Mercedes GT1 car. I really like the circuit and the Cork Screw is really fun. The last three races we have been competitive and would have ended up first or second, just incidents that the team and the drivers couldn’t avoid ruined our results. I hope that after such a difficult season for the team, we can finally get back and win the final race. This would be a good positive vibe for 2007 that the team deserves.”
“We have a strong history at Laguna Seca, having won there in 2004, 2003 and 2002,” said Alex Job, team owner. “We will have a strong contingent from Bell Microproducts there this weekend so the team is poised to close out the season on the top step of the podium. We need to finish the performance that we started at Petit.” The season finale from Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway will be televised live on the SPEED Channel starting at 5:30 p.m. ET.
