Bell Micro Racing hosted its 4th Relationship Sales Event this past weekend at the 2nd Annual Canary Foundation Grand Prix of San Jose. With a theme of “More Than A Race” the streets of downtown San Jose would be converted into a temporary 1.5 mile, seven turn race circuit. The Bell Micro team would be in place on Friday for the first of three days of hospitality. Our list of 325 plus guests included representatives from Agami, Arroyo Video Solutions, Blue Chip Tek, CC Integration, Cisco, CSI Design, Dasher Technologies, Data Link, EFI, Flextronics, Fry’s Electronics, Fusion Storm, Groupware, Intraserve, KIS, Microgear, NEC, Overland Storage, Packateer, Rackable, Samina, Siemens, Teneros and more. Also in attendance were representatives from QLogic, AMD and Hitachi Data Storage Systems, our Supplier Partners for the event.

Legge's car

Legge would start the race in 15th but moved into 14th place on the second lap. When Servia, Power and Junqueira became entangled she found herself running in 11th place. Katherine dropped to 12th on the restart and would hold that position until lap 19 when she had the first incident of the day coming in contact with Andrew Ranger. Her second incident would take place on lap 34 when she hit the tire wall and damaged her car.

Champ Car race

The Bell Micro – PKV Racing crew would repair her car, she would return to the track in 16th place and seven laps down. Legge showed her grit and determination throughout the remainder of the race and through attrition was able to finish the race in 12th place. “It was a difficult race for the Bell Micro – PKV Racing team,” Legge said. “It was full of incidents and unfortunately we got hit at the start of the race, which damaged the car. The crew did a great job getting things fixed, but unfortunately it was one of those races where there was a lot of carnage and we suffered a bit.” Legge made her ninth Champ Car start for PKV Racing and first at San Jose. She did compete last year in the Atlantic Championships qualifying fourth, winning the race.

On Monday morning Katherine visited Bell Micro corporate headquarters where she signed autographs and posed for pictures with her fans. Thank
