Robin Osborne

Bell Micro Racing hosted its first relationship sales event of the season with 100 guests attending the Rolex 24 Hour at Daytona race, what a terrific weekend it was! Our East Coast Sales Teams guest list included representatives from the following companies; APC, Analogic, Acme Packet, AMII, ATM, Bosche, Brevard Community College, CDW, City of St. Port Lucie, Dictaphone, DTX, EDM, HP, Netezza, Semitronics, Sonicare, Sonus, Smartdisk, Tag, Tyco and more. Jim Roach, Director of Manufacturing at Netezza, writes “ we had a great time, the Alex Job # 23 Porsche/Crawford was just awesome, in spite of all the problems they encountered to finish 3rd after 24 hours in the Daytona Prototype division with a brand new race car was very impressive.”

The Alex Job Racing/Emory Motorsports capped an emotional Grand American Rolex Series race with a third place finish. The race would start with the #23 car on pole but with just 55 laps complete the first of two broken rear seals on the cars half shaft that would put the car down by seven laps. Team drivers, Lucas Luhr, Mike Rockenfeller and Patrick Long would make up the lost laps and take the lead on lap 486 at 4:15 a.m. Sunday morning. The car would hold the lead for two plus hours but would experience the second broken rear seal, there we not be enough hours left in the race to make up the deficit.

“We had the fastest drivers and car as well as two pieces of bad luck. The axle problems really bite us today. The team was able to overcome the first axle failure, but the second one sealed our fat off the top step of the podium. The Porsche motor ran great and Max Crawford and his team built us a great car. I am proud of the effort we put forth, things that were out of our control did us in today” said Alex Job.
