Before the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón heads east, let’s take a look back at Sunday’s shootout in the Larry H. Miller Dealerships Utah Grand Prix.
It was a busy day all around with seven overall lead changes and a brilliantly executed final pit stop for Patrón Highcroft Racing, one that sent Simon Pagenaud and David Brabham to Victory Circle in their HPD ARX-01c.
It was just as busy in the other classes. Risi Competizione’s Jaime Melo and Gimmi Bruni moved into the GT championship lead with their class victory, and the manufacturer standings in GT are jumbled up too with BMW moving into first place.
Level 5 Motorsports’ duo of Christophe Bouchut and Scott Tucker won for the third time in LMPC, while the Black Swan Racing duo of Jeroen Bleekemolen and Tim Pappas won their second straight GT Challenge race in as many starts.
How will things shake out in roughly a week’s time at Lime Rock Park? We’ll see soon enough…
